(BEDFORD) - The family of Judge Richard McIntyre, Sr. is telling media sources the late Lawrence County judge was under investigation by US attorneys, and that reportedly led to his decision to end his life.
McIntyre, who was a highly-respected judge, former state representative and Colonel in the Indiana National Guard was found dead in the seat of his SUV in the family garage last week.
Family members read parts of the suicide note McIntyre left behind during the funeral service at Schafer Auditorium at Bedford Middle School.
McIntyre's son, Richard McIntyre, Jr., said the investigation reportedly involved furniture purchased through a military contract.
Investigating parties are refusing to comment on anything regarding Judge McIntyre as a matter of protocol.
