(PAOLI) - Sheriff Richard Dixon reports more trouble in Orange County in terms of thefts.
Last week, WBIW News reported on a string of vehicle burglaries north and east of Paoli, totaling more than 20 vehicles hit over a week's time.
Now, Sheriff Dixon reports these thieves have moved on to home burglaries. Burglars are breaking into homes and taking electronic equipment, guns, jewelry, prescription medication and cash.
Sheriff Dixon urges Orange County to lock their doors and take an inventory of all valuables, especially firearms, as they have been the most popular target and are difficult to identify if owners don't have a record of their weapons' serial numbers.
Dixon says his deputies are doing everything they can to alleviate the problem, but until then, take an inventory, including serial numbers and photographs of valuables, and lock doors at home and on your vehicle.
