(BEDFORD) - For the second time in less than a week, Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident with injuries near the intersection of Reuter and Peters Lanes last night.
Sheriff's reports say this time, 19-year-old Andrew Martz of Westbaden Springs was northbound on Reuter when he approached a curve, hit some water and started to slide.
Right at that time, 31-year-old Gregory Dent of Springville was coming the opposite way around the curve and saw Martz headed straight for him.
Martz ran directly into Dent's driver's side door, leaving him with lacerations on his head. Dent did not require transfer to a hospital, and Martz was uninjured but cited for going too fast to avoid an accident.
Just last Wednesday, 18-year-old Brandon Kimbrel of Springville was flown to University of Louisville Hospital after suffering severe head injuries in a rollover just over a mile south of last nights wreck.
