(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County man charged with killing 2 men and stuffing their bodies in drums has a second pre-trial date scheduled for January.
51-year-old Jerry Pelfree was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff's deputies in mid September after they raided his property and found the bodies of Everett Shaw and Douglas Brown in large drums.
Judge Marc Kellems of the Monroe County Circuit Court entered a preliminary plea of not-guilty for Pelfree shortly after his arrest, and Pelfree had his first pre-trial hearing about 3 weeks ago and now has another scheduled for January 17th.
Authorities allege Pelfree shot Shaw and Brown with a .22 caliber rifle and then used a sledge hammer to break the bodies and fit them into the barrels.
Pelfree is still being held without bond in Monroe County jail.
