(BEDFORD) - The Success and Opportunity at Reading program for South Central Indiana has announced they still have Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits to offer.
SOAR director Lou Getman says individuals and businesses who expect to pay income taxes this year in the State of Indiana can donate money to the program, and receive that exact same amount of money back in the form of a tax credit come April.
SOAR supports adult and family literacy efforts in Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington Counties, and relies on donated funds to operate.
Since the benefit is a tax credit instead of a tax deduction, if someone donates, for example, $200 to SOAR before the end of the year, they will see their tax bill drop $200, or see their refund increase by the same.
For more information, SOAR officials ask you to contact Lou Getman at 275-8000.
