(SHOALS) - Charges have been filed against the man arrested for allegedly torching the Martin County prosecutor’s office in November.
Sergeant Chad Dick of State Police Jasper says 26-year-old Cary Lee Clifton was arrested a couple days after the Elm Street office was allegedly set ablaze for being in possession of stolen property from the prosecutor's office.
Monday, special prosecutor David Powell filed additional charges against Clifton for felony charges of arson, burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, and theft.
Clifton was already housed in Martin County jail on unrelated charges when these counts came down and is now being held on $100,000 bond.
