(NASHVILLE) - State police in Bloomington are hunting for Santa Claus. Or, at least, a bandit dressed as the Jolly Old Elf.
Brown County Sheriff Robert Stogsdill reports a man dressed in a Santa outfit allegedly robbed the Hickory Shades Motel in Nashville over the weekend.
A hotel attendant says a white male in full Saint Nick regalia came in the hotel asking about rooms and then, when he gained access to the office, presented a black or blue-steel plastic-looking handgun and demanded cash.
After collecting the money, instead of pushing off in his sleigh, Santa took off in a dark blue or black full-size Chevy Z-71 pickup back towards Bloomington.
Thursday night. The "Bad Santa" apparently gave the Bloomington Country Hearth Inn's clerk a note asking for money. He then pulled a gun. The robber got away with $100 dollars.
Sheriff Stogsdill asks anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Department at (812) 988-6655.
