(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Hospital is setting up programs to help Hoosiers sign up for the new Healthy Indiana Plan, or “HIP.”
People who are uninsured and want to sign up and need help in completing the application for the HIP are being welcomed to the Kroger grocery store on the south side of Bloomington on Walnut Street Saturday from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
The HIP provides preventative care and what they call a "Personal Wellness Responsibility" or "POWER" account of up to $1,100.
Additionally, a basic commercial benefit plan will assist in expenses that go above and beyond the POWER account.
Here are the details for those needing coverage. Participants must be between 18 and 64 years old and annual household income cannot exceed double the federal poverty level which, for a family of four, would be a little over $82,000.
Participants cannot be eligible for coverage through their employers and must be uninsured for at least 6 months.
If you qualify, hurry to sign up since there are a limited number of plans that HIP can administer.
