(INDIANAPOLIS) - When family members have to be apart for the holidays because one is in the Armed Services, it doesn’t matter how used to it they are, it’s never easy.
However, Secretary of State Todd Rokita and Indiana charities have helped servicemen and women receiving medical treatment at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany receive phone cards so they can call home for the holidays.
Secretary Rokita says more than 1,200 cards representing 194,268 minutes have been sent to a chaplain at Landstuhl, and he expects more to be on the way.
Those cards were sent along with an equally impressive number of holiday cards and letters of support to our servicemen and women at the German hospital.
