(BEDFORD) - A Medora woman was rescued late last night after falling into the White River near the Fort Ritner Bridge.
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies, Guthrie firefighters and conservation officers responded to a call of a woman in the water in the east fork of the White River.
Conservation officers report 35-year-old Rachelle Allman of Medora was off-roading with her husband Dwayne along the north bank of the river when the vehicle became stuck. Rachelle got out and, when trying to get a cell signal, fell into the river.
After making several attempts to save her, Allman's husband ran to a nearby residence to call 911.
Shortly before midnight last night, conservation officer Chad Mills was lowered down a steep bank and grabbed on to Mrs. Allman.
Allman was treated for severe hypothermia and transported to Dunn Memorial Hospital.
