(UNDATED)- How will state police celebrate new years? With stepped up patrols to stop drunken driving.
Officers will not announce where checkpoints will be located, but they'll operate between 9pm Monday and 4am Tuesday.
Last year, 27 people across Indiana died during the new year's holiday period. Six of those wrecks involved alcohol.
A driver is considered intoxicated in Indiana if their blood-alcohol content is 0.08 or higher.
