(BEDFORD) - Major Jo Ann Ashcraft of the Bedford Salvation Army has reported that the local army post has collected more than $48,000 so far for their Christmas campaign.
Major Jo Ann says more than 280 families with over 520 children were assisted in receiving Christmas gifts and clothes this season.
However, they're not done yet.
Major Jo Ann says they still want to reach their goal of $60,000 by January 15th so they can continue to help Lawrence County families through the rest of the holiday season and beyond.
Donations can be made at the Salvation Army's K Street office or by mail to PO Box 94, Bedford, Indiana 47421.
