(UNDATED) - Several high schools around the state are receiving an award from Indiana State University.
The Sycamore Community Leadership Awards are given to schools who come up with creative ways to get involved in the community. The recipients are Crawfordsville High School, Indianapolis Roncalli, West Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Bloomington South High School, Owen Valley High School in Spencer, and Connersville High School.
Paula Meyer with ISU says the award-winning schools receive a plaque and a one-thousand dollar scholarship for a senior bound for Terre Haute.
She also says this is a way to attract students to ISU. Indiana State has had a long standing rivalry with IU and Ball State for students.
