(SEYMOUR) - Twenty members of the North Lawrence Career Center, which is located at Bnl High School, competed in an information technology competition at Seymour High School, and came away with several first and second place awards.
The Bedford chapter of the Business Professionals of America scored top honors in 5 of the 14 events, and second place in 3 more.
Megan Cox took top honors in Financial Math and Analysis and second in Administrative Support Concepts.
Nick Mosier won Visual Basic .NET Programming followed by Brandon West in second. Joleane Altmeyer won Graphic Design Promotion.
Evan Yeary won Fundamentals of XHTML and second place in Digital Media Production.
Max Miller won in Computer Security Concepts and J.R. Peters took second in Insurance Concepts.
Several others placed in events as well, including the before-mentioned winners.
David Yeary instructs the IT academy at the Career Center for Business Professionals of America, and in the 20 competitions he has entered his group in, he has brought back 30 top ten finishes.
