(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford has a new council president.
Bedford's Byron Buker was nominated by Patrick Robbins, the only Democrat elected to the council, to challenge Mark Scherschel for the lead spot.
Scherschel has been president of the council since Mayor Joe Klumpp took office.
However, Buker took the top spot on the council during the first session newly elected Mayor Shawna Girgis presided.
