(HUNTINGBURG) - Governor Mitch Daniels is following up his pitches for tax reform in his state of the state address by visiting a number of area organizations to back the idea. Tomorrow morning,
Governor Daniels will be making the trip to nearby Huntingburg to discuss his property tax proposal at a Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce breakfast, and will follow that up by visiting the Evansville area Association of Realtors that afternoon.
Tuesday evening, during his state of the state address, Governor Daniels proposed replacing a large amount of property taxes with a penny jump in sales tax statewide, amongst other related ideas.
Bedford State Senator Brent Steele has said the statehouse is considering that idea along with others to make sure Indiana gets a tax reform package that fits.
