(ELIZABETHTOWN) - An Indianapolis couple was nailed in Bartholomew County for allegedly being in possession of marijuana and a large amount of cash.
State Police Seymour says 25-year-old Ronald Fortson II and 24-year-old India Tardy, both of Indianapolis, were in possession of marijuana when they were pulled over for a traffic violation on Interstate 65 near Elizabethtown.
When the trooper made the stop, he allegedly noticed the odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle, which led to a more in-depth investigation.
Upon search, Fortson was found to have had marijuana in his possession, and to have a prior conviction of the same, and Tardy is alleged to have hid pot in her underwear. Fortson is being held on $30,000 bond for a felony charge of possessing marijuana under 30 grams with a prior conviction.
Tardy is being held on $33,500 bond on a felony charge of obstructing justice and a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana.
Both are held in Bartholomew County jail.
