(BEDFORD) - Last night’s storms knocked out power to more than 55,000 homes in Central and South Central Indiana.
The WBIW listening area was particularly hard hit, but Duke Energy seems to be getting the pieces put back together in a timely manner.
In the immediate area, almost 13,000 homes were knocked out, but as of 5:15 this morning, Duke says they have power restored to all but just shy of 3,500.
The areas with the worst outages right now are Orange, Lawrence and Brown Counties. At of 5:15, more than 1,700 people in Orange County were without power, more than 900 in Lawrence and just over 650 in Brown.
The storms seem to have done the most power damage in Vigo County, knocking out almost 5,500 homes.
However, Daviess County got off light...with only 1. And that's just bad luck.
Additionally, North Lawrence Water officials say their facilities have been affected by power outages, and some of their customers may notice low water pressure.
