(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are investigating a couple who left their toddler in a car while they went to a movie theater.
Police say another couple arrived at the theater and saw the 3-year-old child sitting in a nearby car. After buying tickets, the couple went back outside to check on the child, who was outside the car with no one nearby.
When police arrived, they found the parents of the child watching a movie inside the theater.
The parents, who are both 37, said they planned to leave the child with a family member but changed their minds and then forgot the child was with them.
The child was released back to her parents but the case remains under investigation.
Temperatures Friday night were in the mid-30s.
