(PAOLI) - A late-night standoff in Paoli ended peacefully with the help of Paoli police and State Police Jasper.
According to a state report, 25-year-old Nathan Hickman of Hardinsburg allegedly threw an object through a car window on Poe Street in Paoli, and then fled on foot when officers tried to make contact with him.
Hickman reportedly ran to a wooded area by Radcliff and Hospital Roads, and barricaded himself somehow, then pointed a gun to his head.
Officers kept an eye on him as a crisis negotiator arrived, and by 11:30 last night, officers were able to talk him down and take him into custody.
Hickman was taken to Bloomington Hospital for a psych evaluation and, upon release, will be taken to Orange County jail charged with a felony count of resisting law enforcement and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.
