(FRENCH LICK) - State troopers in the Jasper district are continuing to lay the hammer down on drunk drivers, despite a decrease in deaths and injuries on Indiana’s roads.
Sergeant Chad Dick of the Jasper post says they want to continue to be proactive, and have even run a directed patrol in French Lick where they arrested 4 felons, worked 5 crashes, wrote 2 tickets and nabbed a couple drunks.
State police recommend planning out how you're getting home before you head out for the evening's golden moments, find a designated driver if you aren't planning on being one, don't hesitate to notify police if you see someone you suspect as being drunk, and, if you are drunk and away from home without a way home, call someone to come get you.
Despite what you may think, it's better to be embarrassed and drunk in someone else's car, than in a wreck and drunk in your own.
