(BEDFORD) - A routine traffic stop in Bedford late last night resulted in the arrest of 3 men.
Bedford police say they stopped a vehicle near the Hideaway Bar in downtown Bedford shortly before midnight last night for driving erratically and speeding.
When officers stopped the vehicle, all 3 of its occupants allegedly got out and ran. Bedford police say the driver, 26-year-old Christopher Wade of Bedford, got back in and took off in the car again, but was stopped quickly, but the other 2 men, 22-year-old Joshua Cullison of Bradenton, Florida and 41-year-old Charles Owings, Jr. of Bedford, continued to run.
They were spotted by the Black-Carmichael-Klein Lumber Company near 12th and I Streets, allegedly jumping a fence.
Cullison was caught, but Owings kept going. Police would eventually catch up with Owings and arrest him as well.
Wade is charged with expired license plates, driving while suspended with a prior conviction and driving while intoxicated.
Both Cullison and Owings are charged with public intoxication and criminal trespass. Owings is also charged with resisting arrest by fleeing.
All 3 were taken to the Lawrence County jail.
