(CAMPBELLSBURG) - State Police Sellersburg and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of a 14-day old infant in Campbellsburg.
Friday morning, Washington County EMS techs along with law enforcement officials responded to a call of an unresponsive child, and when they arrived, found 14-day-old Lachlan Cook.
After they transported the child to Washington County Hospital in Salem, Cook was pronounced dead. An autopsy was performed at a Kentucky medical examiner's office in Louisville to determine cause of death, however, results came back inconclusive Saturday.
Sheriff's deputies also executed a search warrant on the home where the boy was recovered from. State police and Washington County officials are still waiting on toxicology test results which could take between 6 and 8 weeks to get back.
