(TELL CITY) - An identity has been confirmed in the case of the body found in a burned vehicle in Tell City.
The deceased has been confirmed as 31-year-old Joseph Ray Dixon of Tell City. Perry County Coroner Darrel Riley confirmed the official cause of death was smoke inhalation.
State Police Jasper also now have a better idea as to what caused the fire. Inside the vehicle, investigators found what they describe as items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Sergeant Paul Andry of the Meth Suppression Unit noted that making meth is very dangerous by itself, but when you put some of those items in a vehicle, the danger increases.
A number of meth labs nationwide have been "discovered" after chemicals reacted and set the building ablaze.
