(BEDFORD) - Mitchell Police, in conjunction with Bedford officers, served a search warrant on a Bedford home yesterday afternoon regarding a burglary in Mitchell that left one man seriously injured.
Mitchell police say 48-year-old Gregory Deckard and 33-year-old Warren Wagnon were both charged in relation to both that crime and possible illegal drug activity.
Mitchell police allege Wagnon and Deckard broke into a Mitchell home and severely beat a man with an object, causing lacerations to his head and face and serious bodily injury. Deckard and Wagnon were arrested for that Sunday, however, the warrant served in Bedford led to an additional discovery, a possible illegal drug operation.
Mitchell Police Chief Jim Richardson told WBIW News a set of brass knuckles were found in the home, and the information released said an additional warrant was sought for the drug activity.
The drug portion of the duo's crimes may be handled by Bedford police. No information has been made available on the charges relating to that.
So far, Deckard stands charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary with a deadly weapon.
Wagnon is charged so far with burglary and battery with a deadly weapon.
