(BEDFORD) - Flooding may still be an issue around Lawrence County.
The National Weather Service has extended the flood warning for the East Fork of the White River along Bedford.
The river is expected to be up over 23 feet by this afternoon, and not be back down below the flood stage of 20 feet until Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service says at the 23 foot level, almost all roads within the east fork flood plain will be impassable with exception of US-50 and IN-37.
State police also remind drivers to obey all flood signs to make sure you don't get stuck in flood water. It only takes about 6 inches of water to reach the bottom of most vehicles, and only a foot to float them.
Additionally, the flood warning for Williams has been cancelled, and the warning for Shoals is due to expire tomorrow evening.
