(BLOOMINGTON) - News organizations all across the State of Indiana, including this one, are waiting with baited breath for an announcement on the future of Kelvin Sampson as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team.
Numerous reports have been saying a decision was to be made today, although no press conference has been called yet.
Fox Sports even went so far yesterday as to say Sampson had already received his walking papers, however, that was retracted later after denials by the Indiana athletics department. Sampson has been the subject of an investigation by Athletic Director Rick Greenspan into charges that Sampson committed five major NCAA violations.
The charges involve improper phone calls to recruits and lying to investigators about those calls.
Keep watching WBIW.com as we will bring you updates on the Sampson decision as soon as they become available.
Update: 1:04pm:
