(UNDATED) - Though the City of Mitchell got nailed by heavy straight-line winds damaging several homes during Tuesday night’s storms, the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in Greene County near Bloomfield.
The Greene County Daily World reports several homes suffering heavy damage along South John Street, trees and utility poles being downed.
One house along Main Street in Bloomfield had its roof torn off, sending it several blocks away.
The area around Bloomfield, especially toward the north edge, is reportedly littered with debris from the storm.
