(MITCHELL) - A young Mitchell man got caught on slick roads after 9:00 last night and ended up rolling his sport utility vehicle.
Lawrence County reports say 16-year-old John Allen was driving westbound on US-50 when he crested a hill and started losing control of his SUV.
Allen started sliding side to side and then slid off the roadway sideways, hit a guardrail causing his Explorer to flip over twice, take out a tree and then come to a rest on the passenger side.
When emergency responders arrived, Allen had lacerations to his hand and was taken by personal vehicle to seek medical attention.
The report said the snow and ice on the road at the time were the major factor.
