(BEDFORD) - A Bedford motorcyclist has suffered head injuries after his bike struck a deer Friday night.
Lawrence County Sheriff's reports say 51-year-old Roger Perkins was riding his Harley eastbound on US-50 when a deer entered his path just past Stumphole Bridge Road.
Perkins struck the deer killing it, and suffered head injuries as he was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
Perkins was taken by ambulance to Bedford Regional Medical Center.
