(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bedford man has been arrested in Bloomington for allegedly hitting his pregnant girlfriend with a sport utility vehicle.
Bloomington police say 32-year-old Larry Wayne Gilreath of Bedford got into an argument with his 23-year-old girlfriend who is 5 months pregnant.
The woman decided to leave the home and have her husband pick her up, and while she was waiting outside for him, Bloomington police allege Gilreath got into his SUV and struck her on the legs.
The woman was reportedly not seriously injured, and, when the husband arrived, police say Gilreath turned around, struck a nearby car, and then struck the husband's car after the woman got in.
Gilreath then left the scene. Bloomington police would eventually catch up and pull him over, but Gilreath allegedly got out and took off running, but was quickly caught.
Gilreath was taken to Monroe County jail charged with aggravated battery, leaving the scene of an accident, 2 counts of criminal recklessness, resisting law enforcement by fleeing, driving while suspended, and possession of a throwing star.
