(BEDFORD) - An allegedly intoxicated man was arrested early this morning because, police say, he refused to leave the home of a Bedford woman.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says officers were called to an apartment complex on Ludlow Drive shortly after 3:00am this morning about a prowler, but when officers arrived, they were unable to locate any problems.
However, shortly after, police were called a second time to an apartment there.
When officers arrived at the door, they had difficulty gaining entry, but eventually, a woman would open the door, and let officers in, advising them that there was an intruder in the home, and nodded in the direction of the bedroom.
Officers say they went back and found 30-year-old Dennis Addison hiding in the closet, and they say he refused to come out until police said they wouldn't use the TASER on him.
At that point, Addison came out, but reportedly fought police from the point they tried to put handcuffs on him to the time they closed the door on his Lawrence County jail cell.
Addison was charged with resisting arrest by force and disorderly conduct and was also found to have an outstanding Lawrence County warrant for failure to appear.
