(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man has been arrested for battery after allegedly punching a 15-year-old.
Bedford police say two young men were walking along Hillcrest Road near the Center for Behavioral Health, and the spotted a man they thought they knew.
When they realized the man they saw was someone else, police say they started walking away, and that reportedly angered the misidentified man.
Police say that man, 25-year-old Chadley Lintz, became irate at the two kids, and allegedly struck the 15-year-old male in the head and neck.
The kids took off running to the Sprint gas station on 16th Street where they called police. Police would eventually locate Lintz at his apartment, and the victim identified him and signed the battery affidavit.
Lintz was taken to Lawrence County jail on a charge of battery.
Reports say the 15-year-old was not seriously injured.
