(COLUMBUS) - The landscape of downtown Columbus as well as Bartholomew County is changing with several major building projects.
Among the most visible is the demolition of the Commons Downtown to make way for a new Commons, hotel and Cummins Inc. office building.
Not far from downtown, Central Middle School students are enjoying their first year in a new building after the more than 100-year-old school was razed.
Other projects include a jail expansion to address overcrowding and a new community center for seniors and families.
