(UNDATED) - Some people in Lawrence County may have noticed a lack of snow plows on the road on their ride home from work Friday evening.
That's because Lawrence County and Bedford crews were overtaxed due to snow falling over a 24 hour period.
Bedford Street Department Manager John Dalton told WBIW News that Bedford crews went home around 3:30pm, and then were called back to duty by Bedford police at 8:30 that night, working until 1:30 Saturday afternoon.
Lawrence County Highway Superintendent Dan Lucas tells WBIW News that they did pretty much the same thing, leaving between 3:30pm and 6:00pm Friday, and then came back at 10:30 Friday night working until 4:00 on Saturday.
Both Dalton and Lucas report few actual problems getting the roads clear and that all their drivers got back safe.
Lucas said a couple county trucks slid off the road, but were pulled back on and put back to work.
