(BEDFORD) - This week’s rains are looking to possible affect your commute home.
Between Lawrence, Monroe and Orange Counties, several local and county roads are closed due to flooding, and the Indiana Department of Transportation has several state highways shut down as well.
The Lawrence County Highway Department has most roads near the white river shut down including Huron-Williams and Lawrenceport Roads.
Monroe County says most of the roads near Lake Monroe are flooded, and some may be underwater for weeks. Orange County is also seeing problems with their roads as well, most notable IN-37 in Orleans.
INDOT also says IN-550 from Shoals to Lacy is not passable, and IN-450 from Williams to Shoals hasn't been usable for days.
Some of these roads may start to dry up today and tomorrow, but don't expect much, especially with rain returning on Sunday and, forecasters say, continuing through Tuesday.
Additionally, the National Weather Service has issued a new flood warning for small streams in Lawrence and surrounding counties until 6:45 tonight.
