Last updated on Monday, March 3, 2008

(ORLEANS) - The Town of Orleans will be participating in Indiana Severe Weather Preparedness Week this week.

People in Orleans, as well as towns and cities all over the listening area, can expect to hear the inaugural sounding of the tornado sirens this year on Wednesday the 5th.

State police, local police agencies and the National Weather Service will all be testing emergency communication equipment this week as part of their severe weather preparedness plans.

Additionally, Orleans Clerk-Treasurer Robert Henderson Jr. advises that the Orleans siren will go back to being tested on Fridays at 1:00pm through the sheriff's department.
