(BEDFORD) - The inclement weather from yesterday and last night has caused the National Weather Service to delay a scheduled test run of the state’s tornado sirens.
The National Weather Service had planned on running one in the morning for schools and businesses to dry run emergency weather plans, and then one this evening for everyone to prepare at home.
The morning test was originally scheduled for between 10:00 and 10:30 this morning; however, due to a number of schools being delayed and closed north of our listening area, they pushed those tests back to between 11:15 and 11:45 this morning.
The evening test is still on track for between 7:00 and 7:30 this evening.
So, just as a reminder, the siren you heard late this morning was a test, just like the one between 7:00 and 7:30 tonight will be.
However, any siren heard today outside of those times should certainly be paid attention to.
