(BEDFORD) - Bedford police picked up two more area residents on drug and alcohol charges.
Police say, around 2:00 this morning, 18-year-old Brandee Mounce of Springville was heading westbound on 5th Street when police reportedly spotted her vehicle bobbing along across the road, leaving the roadway and crossing the centerline.
An officer eventually pulled her over at Spring Street and, when he made contact, said both Mounce and her passenger, 19-year-old Meghan Dunham of Bedford, showed signs of intoxication.
Mounce failed a portable breath test and Dunham was also found to be intoxicated. When they arrested the pair, Mounce was also found to have on her pills of Carisoprodol, a skeletal muscle relaxant, and Clonazepam, a commonly used companion drug, neither of which she could show a prescription for.
Dunham was charged with public intoxication and illegal consumption.
Mounce was charged with driving while intoxicated, public intoxication, and possession of both a Schedule IV substance and a legend drug and both were taken to Lawrence County jail.
