(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was caught allegedly driving drunk and with drugs because he neglected to renew his license plates.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News officers pulled over 44-year-old Gregory Fletcher of Bedford near the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue because his tags were expired.
When officers approached, they saw him put a cigarette that was in his mouth out, and report smelling the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.
Well, that wasn't just an average Marlboro police say Fletcher was handling, Parsley says the substance inside tested positive for marijuana.
The officers took Fletcher into custody for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana, and, when searching everything, found tablets of both oxycodone and hydrocodone in his possession.
Fletcher was then additionally charged with possession of both a Schedule II and III substance.
