(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man is behind bars after a brief, reportedly intoxicated rampage at Ridgewood Apartments last night.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News a black Camaro Z-28 driven by 47-year-old William Cully Thomas allegedly drove around the Ridgewood Apartments parking lot striking several vehicles, but then one man confronted the driver, who then took off running, but the man caught him and held him until officers arrived.
When they did, they found Thomas in the middle of the road being loud, and told him to quiet down, and then they noticed he showed signs of intoxication.
They then began to take him into custody, but he fought officers, causing them to forcibly apply handcuffs.
Thomas was taken to Lawrence County jail charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest by force, and criminal mischief.
