(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bedford man is dead after a car accident just south of Bloomfield yesterday afternoon.
Greene County Sheriff's officials say 51-year-old Douglas Luttrell of Bedford was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on southbound US-231.
Reports show Luttrell's pickup crossed the centerline, ran off the opposite side of the roadway and headlong into a tree.
An air-evac ambulance was called to assist, but was cancelled after Luttrell was pronounced dead.
No word on what caused the accident.
