(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police arrested a man yesterday morning for firing off warning shots when he reportedly thought people were trying to mess with his grill.
31-year-old Chris Williams of Bloomfield was visiting a woman at the 1400 block of North Illinois Court when he thought he saw someone messing with their grill, and fired a couple shots in the air, which were heard by nearby bike patrol officers.
A half hour later, while officers were trying to pinpoint the location of the sound, two more rounds were fired off.
Officers would eventually get to the home Williams was at and found a few spent casings on the porch, and surrounded the home when Williams walked out to meet them.
After searching the home and finding a 9mm pistol and .357 magnum revolver, police took Williams into custody charged with criminal recklessness with a weapon and carrying a handgun without a permit.
