(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Mayor’s Office is wanting to advise B-Town drivers of some construction set to take place on 2nd Street today.
As part of the city's plan to redevelop west 3rd Street, city planners are gearing up 2nd Street to handle the extra traffic that will redirect there as a result.
2nd Street, from IN-37 to Walker Avenue, will get narrowed lanes, new green space, and turning and pull-over lanes for buses and trucks and other traffic plus upgraded traffic signals at intersections.
Though work officially begins today, pavement grading isn't expected to start until the 28th, and the entire project is expected to be complete by the week of June 23rd.
The 3rd Street project won't go live until next year.
