(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County’s not looking at too much change in the Republican ticket for County Council and Commission.
In District 2, incumbent Republican Commissioner William Spreen defeated Tim Terry to maintain his spot at the Republican nominee in that district. Spreen will now go on to face Democrat William Luttrell in the general election.
For Commissioner District 3, Republican incumbent David Flinn maintained his spot over primary challenger Brian Prince by about 800 votes.
On the Democratic side of that race, Darin Kinser defeated Phillip Lynn to take on the incumbent commissioner in that district in November.
Finally, for County Council at Large, Greg Morris is out on the Republican side, incumbents Mike Branham and James Edwards, as well as veteran Bedfordite Gene McCracken are in.
In the vote three race, McCracken, the technical newcomer, stayed at least 400 votes over his nearest co-competitor.
On the Democratic side, only two people entered, Penny Pierce and Kristine Van Pelt, and they will both continue on in the November general.
