(UNDATED) - Today’s the big day, especially if you’re in a contested primary race.
Polls open this morning for the 2008 Indiana primary election, and will remain open until 6:00pm this evening.
If you need information on your registration status or where your specific polling place is, go online to IndianaVoters.com, or call (866) IN-1-VOTE.
Of course, the biggest contested primaries in this area are going to be the Democratic primaries for president, between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and governor for Jim Schellinger and Jill Long Thompson.
Their respective Republican opponents are currently, technically, uncontested.
Additionally, closer to home, we have a Republican primary for 4th District congress between incumbent Steve Buyer and Mike Campbell and LaRon Keith. In the 9th District, which surrounds Lawrence County, 3 people are taking on incumbent Baron Hill.
Here in Lawrence County, the most contested primary is for which Republican will take on Democrat Sandy Blanton for her state house seat in November, with 4 people in that contest.
For a complete list of area races, log on to the candidate list in the WBIW Election Center.
And when you're done voting and want to hear how things turned out, tune in to WBIW at 5:30 tonight for Primary Night 2008 with hosts Jason Thompson and Justin A. Metzger.
And, remember, polls don't close until 6:00 tonight, and we won't know results until after then, but you'll hear them as we get them.
