(BLOOMINGTON) - Two men wanted in a burglary and suspicious fire at the Porthole Inn in Bloomington were arrested yesterday, and one of them even tried to escape.
Monroe County Sheriff's officials had 21-year-old Dustin Ikerd at the county building for questioning, and when they told him he was under arrest, Sheriff's officials say he took off running out of the interview room, out of the building and through a group of people waiting in line to vote absentee, all the while deputies were chasing him.
Officers would catch him in the parking lot of Bloomington City Hall, and have since charged him with burglary, escape, and resisting arrest.
A second suspect, 22-year-old David Reed, was also arrested later on.
This all was a result of a fire that heavily damaged the porthole inn last week, where authorities found stolen items from the business nearby.
Inspectors and detectives are still investigating the actual fire.
