(UNDATED) - The end of last week was big for sentencing.
Former Lawrence County Sheriff Kent Hawkins was sentenced to 1 year of in-home detention and 1 year of work release at the Greene County Work Release Center for his role in the gun buyback scheme during his tenure at the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
His daughter-in-law and former Jail Matron Shauna Hawkins was sentenced to 58 days of home detention for her conviction on a Class-A misdemeanor charge of sexual misconduct Thursday for getting involved in a sexual tryst with a Lawrence County inmate.
Finally, a Jasper man was sentenced on federal charges relating to child pornography. 42-year-old Michael Muncy of Jasper pled guilty earlier to distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography as the result of an investigation by the FBI and Jasper City Police.
Muncy will serve 10 years in jail for his crimes.
