(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was jailed after allegedly getting drunk and running through a fence.
Monroe County Chief Deputy Scott Mellinger says officers responded to a call of a traffic accident on South Rockport Road where he found a car that ran off the road and through a fence.
When the officer made contact with the driver, 43-year-old Rita Gardner, he reported noticing the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. When he asked her if she had tried to leave the scene of the accident, the woman reportedly laughed and replied "maybe."
Gardner was then given a breath test where she blew a .26% and was then taken to Bloomington Hospital to be checked out and then to Monroe County jail to "sleep it off."
