(FRENCH LICK) - Two Orange County men are behind bars facing a number of felony theft-related charges after citizens help police find them.
Orange County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Bill Fullington says 19-year-old Steven Bradley of West Baden and 19-year-old Darin Jones of French Lick are in Orange County jail facing felony charges of burglary, theft, auto theft, and a lesser charge of failing to stop or comply following a property damage accident.
Fullington says officers were called to a residence on CR1075 West near French Lick when the owner found two men in a white car leave his residence, and realized someone had been in his home and took prescription medications.
While on his way to the home, an Orange County officer found a vehicle matching the description wrecked and abandoned, and called in additional deputies to help locate the people inside.
One of the nearby residents told officers he had seen two men of matching description walking toward the Lower Golf Course, and that's where officers found Bradley and Jones.
Orange County Sheriff Richard Dixon says he doubts officers could have found the two men as quickly as they did had it not been for the help of the witness.
